KICKING BACK - JENS TRINIDAD (PH/NO)
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Open level
"My class focuses on weight and grounding, drawing energy from the floor. Together, we will explore both personal and collective swing and groove. I’m interested in the complexity of how social dances connect, vibe, and intertwine bodies beyond the surface. This implies that I’m looking past aesthetics or technique and toward embodied connection, intimacy, rhythm, tension, affect, and social and cultural meaning."
"I’ll start introducing my practice and interestes, how I work in my own artistic projects. We dance together for an hour, ending the session by sharing thoughts and reflections around the work. The workshop is open for all movers. "
ABOUT JENS TRINIDAD
Jens Jeffry Trinidad is a Filipino-Norwegian performing and creating dance artist with a background from X-Ray/UKH in Oslo, where he began dancing hip hop in the late 90s. In his own projects and works, Jens approaches choreography from a performer’s perspective, with the act of performing as a central driving force both in the process and on stage. He is rooted in club and street dance styles and works across projects within contemporary dance and performance. Currently, Jens is developing his own practice, focusing on physicality—presence, sensorial awareness, and new approaches to movement—while also challenging genre conventions.

BODY MECHANICS - TR3SA (SE)
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Open level
Bodymechanics within Groove and Rhythm by tr3sa. We dive into dance through curiosity about our body function. By exploring how the body is connected, how a movement leads to a ripple of bodily responses, and how by allowing or breaking the chain we give space for rhythmic changes and grooves. Starting from our relation to the ground and moving through circular and undulating motions, getting to know our being and bodily possibilities, I hope to open up for playfulness as well as being in the present moment.

“Awareness of the class will focus mainly on the connection with one’s own body, with the understanding of its limits, in order to acknowledge how far one is willing or able to go. Awareness of the skeletal structure, its capability of mobility, its mechanics and directional awareness will help us to explore the space across the floor and through the air. Calmness always being the starting point. Learning to search for resting points during the use of force, power and strength. Reaching freedom when being locked. The natural state of expressions will allow us to find our own unique language, which will lead us towards movement material composed into phrases emphasising the full range of spatial possibilities coming from the floor to reaching the air above.
Partnering:
This specific practice aims to uncover the intricate dynamics within partner- work scenarios. It involves exploring the dependence on another body, building trust, exercising control, and demonstrating care. The process delves into giving and receiving impulses, understanding how to engage with external bodies, managing weight, and comprehending its application through a study of the skeletal structure’s behavioral aspects. Utilizing improvisational games as foundational codes, participants will explore how their center responds to the addition or release of extra weight, fostering an open-minded approach to self-awareness and group dynamics”

Let's experiment and investigate!

Bio
Mané Fernandes is a guitar player, composer and improviser based in Lisbon and Porto. He is part of a broad, musical experimental scene he likes to call Post-Beat Aesthetics. The meeting of the “Jazz” (#BAM) tradition as an ever-inspiring source of depth and truth, with the fresh sounds and methodologies of electronic and sample based music(s) is where he finds his space. [This is where parameters are stretched, rules are established and soon broken, creativity is worshiped and transcendence is toyed with. His sound is fresh in the European scene, drawing inspiration from deep spiritual improvisation, beat music and 90's Boom Bap.]

EMBODIED AWARENESS - REPERTOIRE
How to embody a movement within a dancer.

Listening bodies - Partnering
"Exploring and learning about the human body and how the different parts and systems collaborate can have an interesting effect on our presence, perception and the way we move. In the workshop listening bodies we will explore this through connection and touch with other bodies. Taking care of ourselves in order to take care of each other can be an interesting way to learn something about our own bodies and is an important perspective of working with a partner. The starting point each day is a topic related to the human body from a small simple detail to larger connections in the organism. The theme will be explored through free physical exploration, games, simple exercises and improvisation. We will gradually move into creating a communal language to communicate with a focus on listening and open up for pysical exchanges where we play with all levels of space, speed, flow and the forces that move us.
The workshop is an open space for your own exploration, physical reflection and an opportunity for giving and taking care of your own body and to each other."
BIO:
Nina Wollny studied modern and contemporary dance at the Rotterdam Dance Academy, now Codarts, in the Netherlands. After her graduation in 2002 she joined the company anoukvandijk dc and has worked there as dancer, rehearsal director and artistic assistant for more than 10 years. Nina has been regularly performing and collaborating with German choreographer Jenny Beyer at Kampnagel in Hamburg, Germany. In Norway she works with amongst others Mia Habib Productions and BodyCartographyProject. She is based in Trondheim and is part of the Praxis Trondheim team, ImproDans Trondheim and has joined several Trondheim based projects of Marie Rechsteiner. Nina started teaching when she was 15 as a way to deepen her own understanding of dance. In 2004 she became a Countertechnique teacher and has taught those classes and workshops all around the world until 2021. Now she is following her own interests in sharing movement. She is curious how our dance relates to the form and function of the body and the forces that move us through a process that is not looking for a solution or a universal answer, but rather exploring questions together and letting them resonate through movement in the individuals body.
Recently Nina has been drawn to start sharing her fascination of the human body in her own artistic and performative work, which has led to the piece Revisiting Solo. Revisiting Solo was most recently performed in the context of a “Women’s health in movement” event where art, science and experience come together so speak up about issues in women’s health.
